Weekends Are There For Other Things⎥POEM

Good evening,

As this poem already says it, weekends are for other things. Sometimes you have so much to do during the week that it leaves no room for other things which also need attention. In my case, it would be poetry writing and writing in general, that I need to work on over the weekend. This is not a great deal, it is something I love to do, so I always find the time on Saturday/Sunday.

Here is one of my latest poems which I'd like to share with you. I wrote it on Saturday morning, the minute I got up. It was a flash of inspiration that hit me, as always suddenly .. :)) So I took a fountain pen that was close and wrote this down.

I'll write it down if it is difficult to read:

Weekends are there for other things,
Which I also have to do.
If you don't know what I talk about
Then I'll give you a little clue.

What is it that I think of
The minute I get up?
"Hooray it is weekend
And I need my morning cup?"

Yes sure, though it's not what I meant.
Something else is often on my mind.
When I open my eyes and turn on the light,
I always look for a pen to find.

Something to write is what I need
Like someone's coffee in a café.
Without it I won't be happy
And cannot start my day.

After this poem I was able to have breakfast. :)

There are days when I don't write and then I feel really grumpy.. it can already be foreseen... I'm deep involved in poetry that not to do it anymore would be just disastrous! I don't want to dare such a moment! :)

I often need to remind myself to write because this year and last year it's been quite different and there are a lot of other things to do that you can easily forget it. Not to forget it .. but you just need a kick in the ass, just like with nanowrimo, you have to show up at your desk at the same time, every day.

It's time for me to get some rest. It's quite late here and tomorrow I get up early and go to work.

Poem About A Murderer ⎥POEM

Hi everyone!! It's been quite a while... I cannot remember the last time I wrote something for my blog. January is almost over and I have already started writing new poems for this year. You can read some of them on my public Facebook page, simply click on this LINK. It will direct you to my poetry album on Fb. Others you can read on my wall.

Instead I have found this poem here which I would like to share with you. Do you know Patrick Süskind, the author of this book "Perfume"? I have read his book and have even watching the film. It's a great story of a murderer.

The result of it, I have been inspired to write this poem below. I hope you will take your time to read it. It may seem a bit long but it's worth to read. I am posting this poem to show you different sides of my poetry. Inspiration can come from everywhere, sometimes it's a book, other times a thought or a situation. I have read some of my poems from a few years and they are really entertaining me. So many different themes. You can write about anything if you wish to, just give it a try :))

So here comes my poem:

April 07, 2011 – Thursday

Poem about a murderer

I am reading a book
About a morbid tale
Of a monstrous killer
And all in its detail.

He himself cannot smell
But he loves the scents.
The book is very dark
And so is its content.

Abandoned by the wet nurse
She didn’t want that child.
She said it’s evil
Although the baby smiled.

She went to the market
With one thing in mind,
How to get rid of him,
How to leave him behind.

She didn’t want to keep him
She wanted to give him away.
So at this crowded place,
She tried to make her way.

During the first few years,
He changed many families.
They treated him like someone
Who had a disease.

His nose was a gift,
A dangerous one to own.
He was greedy about
Scents that were unknown.

He wanted to keep them
And memorize them all
But how can he do that
When one he can’t recall?

One scent was still missing
It didn’t give him rest.
The scent of a virgin
And her untouched breast.

To find the smell out,
He had to kill one
And that’s how the story
Sadly had begun.

New sad poem (in Croatian) / translation below

Like a ghost I'm floating over the mountains,
Day and night without ceasing.
My soul has already left for days,
Since that last meeting.

I see happy people under the sky,
From head to toe fully smiling.
Well that's the feeling which I need too
However, my heart huts and wants to defend it.

Friends I have to leave this world,
My life has reached an end.
In vain I've been flying the wrong flight
Until I turned into the terrestrial paradise.

This would be the translation to that poem above. It is something but well that's the current mood of my muse. I just go with the flow.. AND there is something I just have to clarify..

  • I write not because it gives me comfort
  • I write because I cannot do it different
  • I write because I have to, it's my gift which I began to own
  • I write because this is my destiny
  • I write because I have something to say
  • When I write people listen to me
  • When they read the poems, I have their attention
  • I write because this is how I can communicate

Otherwise I'm usually just ignored, .. when I want to ask something they usually say "Wait a second I'm talking to someone" usually to a person next to me.. so I wait and they forget that I wanted to talk to them.. AM I not IMPORTANT to stop the current conversation or to end it?? No.. Sandra can wait, she's not that important to be listened to. That's how I feel and it makes me really sad! However, I'll get a life, this is not worth!

Or, it can also be the other way round. People don't talk to me as they don't know what to talk to me. Can you imagine? This is sad because if they only knew me well they would think different.

It's Sunday afternoon and I'm about to explode...!!! I will take a walk. It's so nice outside. No sigh of the real autumn yet.

This post doesn't sound positive.. yes I am poetry girl and I must pay attention to what I'm writing here but I'm also a human who has feelings!

She Can't Replace Me ⎜POEM

Hello everyone!

Weekend is here! Hopefully the good vibes will stay.

Here is a poem from 2010 but I put it on one of my latest photos from my China trip. I chose this photo as it somehow to me it seems to fit .. for this particular poem. This definitely not an easy topic to discuss or to think about .. "what if" or "one day..." I don't know if I were put in such a situation... but the feelings for this poem came and I had to write it down. The outcome hopefully gives families a bit of hope. Sometimes changes are good! No matter how painful some may be, we should always look at it.. as a new lesson!

BUT this is of course easy to say but not easy to put it into practice. Other times changes are devastating, really hard to accept so a situation. It has a lot to do with the person and their attitude.

If they are open to changes then things will definitely go better, rather than seeing it negative.

Hope this post makes somehow sense, but more importantly enjoy my poem! :)

Nib holder with 3 nibs

Hello!!! :)))

I went to the stationery shop today and I found this nib holder which had three nibs to change. Immediately I grabbed it because I have been looking for such a pen for months on ebay ... when I saw it there, I thought "at the right time, at the right place" :))

For some time I thought these nibs are difficult to use.. but on the contrary.. I was surprised to see how smooth I can write with it and I love that it writes a little "thick", if you know what I mean?

I have to practice a bit with this new nib because at some point it left me a stain on my paper but it wasn't a bit deal. I don't mind. It makes writing more fun.

I have friends who have never written anything with a fountain pen or with an ink and they are surprised when you tell them that you write with ink only. It's the feeling that you get when you move your pen. A biro cannot give you such moments of stillness. Ink doesn't last forever, I am aware of it but this doesn't mean I cannot write ink. I try to use qualitative ink, such as Parker Quink, to make the pages last a bit longer before they completely fade....

Here is my poem if you didn't get the chance to read it in my video on the top.

Thank you for reading! I know it has been a while.. I need a better time management with everything here... More soon! :)

Drifting On The Surface - POEM

Dark poetry is my favorite, sad and dark poetry ....

I thought to give you different sides of my poems. They range from happy poems to sad ones. This one is dark, in fact very dark! I found this photo on a friend's Facebook page and I got inspired by it. It was fascinating was she drowning or not? Inspiration hit me and I wrote this poem here.

I gave credit to that photo too as I don't know who the photographer was and it's not nice when you take something not to name the source. I hope it's fine to use it as background just for that blog post here.

I like this type of poetry, it's sad but it's life just like with happy stuff, there's also bad stuff. I'm sure I will write more .. some time!

Thanks for reading!

A poem in memory for all the victims of the HOLOCAUST

Holocaust Remembrance Day

April 19th, the remembrance day for HOLOCAUST. A friend of mine has lost someone in her family. Her great-grandfather never got to know his dauther. He was killed by the Nazi's.

Here's one of my early poems that I wrote for my friend. It's dedicated to her and her family. I wrote it in 2009. This week is my almost final week of my 3rd year of persistent poetry writing. This year has been by far my worst year of writing. There were lots of breaks in between, many weeks of "no poetry writing", lots of writer's block's... BUT it was also a different experience to me. I wrote about other things, not so much about the sad stuff in life but more about LOVE :)

This photo of the candle I took recently and decided to use it as background for my poem.

I hope you'll enjoy it!

No lost soul will ever be forgotten!!

Thanks for reading!

My Darling Fountain Pen - POEM

Poetry Girl is back!!

Yes I am!! I've been so busy that now I really enjoy those 4 days that I have off :) Two more weeks until Christmas wow ... Time is passing by...

Here is one of my latest poems. I wrote it yesterday. It is pretty short but I think it says a lot. It happened out of the blue, like this blue paper, that I got the inspiration...  I'm quite exhausted so I am glad for some poetry. It still gives me the feeling that I CAN write. Perhaps it's not one of my best prose but it is poetry, that comes from the HEART!

I spelled December wrong with a "z" :P that comes because I speak German too and mixed it up. Never mind. Poetry Girl can make mistakes too.

So yeah I am still writing. Not so much as I used to but as long as I write one poem every week or two it is "okay". I was used to write 3-4 poems a DAY, so you see the difference. Uh!!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed it. Leave me some comments. I love to hear from my friends who are reading my blog. If you write poetry too and want to share with me, let me know :)
